He’s a doctor. She’s a pharmacist. They’re a match made in medical heaven, and to top all that off with a happy little cherry, their smiles light up the room. Any room. Seriously—a room can be pitch black until Lindsey and Matt walk in, then there’s a glimmer of light that enters with them. They’re personable, easy to talk to, roll with the punches sort of people; and I LOVE that!! They laugh. A lot. And they crack each other up, which makes them laugh even harder.
I started out their engagement session posing them and doing my usual thing until, about halfway through, I learned that they’re casual. And comfortable. And the best images came from them just hanging out together. I’m so thankful we made the effort for me to have the photo shoot despite the distance from my home to theirs. It’ll help the wedding day (which is coming SO SOON!!) run smoothly to know how we all work together. (Take that as a note, all you future brides who are thinking of having someone other than your wedding photographer shoot your engagement photos! It’s worth the effort. Trust me.)
Lindsey and Matt, thank you for being so sweet and generous to me during out photo shoot; your wedding is going to be GORGEOUS, and I cannot wait to photograph you both, with all your friends and family, for such a glorious event!
Alright. By now, you’ve all seen their engagement photos … both posts, and you’ve seen Katelyn’s bridal session. Now, My Friends, the time has finally come for Branden and Katelyn to tie the knot!
Not only is the couple absolutely, preciously in love, but their families joyously surround them with encouragement, love, and respect. This was a true celebration. For everyone involved.
Easy-going.
Classy.
Focused. On Branded and Katelyn joining together in holy matrimony. And, more importantly, on the Lord, who is wholly pleased with this union. He made these two to be together. Blessed them with wonderful people who have surrounded them, prayed for them, and guided them.
I know I say this with every wedding I photograph (because I truly mean it with every wedding), but it was an honor to be a part of this day, and — on a more personal note — feel like part of the family for the weekend.
Branden and Katelyn, you are BLESSED! We all celebrate with you and share in your joy. Thank you for allowing me to document so many beautiful memories for you, your current family, and your future family.
Branden and Katelyn decided to not see each other before the wedding, but since we took a bunch of photos at the same location (the bride’s house), they just wanted a moment together. It was perfect.

First of all, Congratulations Katelyn & Branden!! They literally just tied the knot. And right now, I’m backing up, looking through, and drooling over the Wedding Day images while they head off to their honeymoon.
And while they finally get to relax and breathe after planning their amazing celebration, you get to view the images that I’ve been chomping at the bit to post: Katelyn’s bridal portrait session! We had the photo shoot weeks ago, and I’ve been dying to share them ever since, but out of respect for Katelyn’s wishes I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Until everyone finally saw her as a bride—live and in person—for themselves.
Today, my Friends, is that blessed day! As I sift through another set of gorgeous photos of this handsome couple and decide which ones will make the wedding day post, please enjoy the product of a relaxed afternoon dedicated to photographing the beautiful bride.
I miss taking photos. Like, a lot. A lot. I don’t pick up my camera as much as I did when I shot full-time, (DUH!) but that’s fine. After all, I signed up for it.
But my heart is there.
With my camera.
Sometimes I feel like I’m cheating on my design work with photography. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE my job. Seriously. It’s been the biggest blessing to be working where I am. It’s just … it amazes me how, after not picking up my Nikon for weeks, I go to a shoot and get so excited to be holding my camera, organizing the lighting, models, products, etc., that I literally shake with excitement. Seriously. That happens. I just love our relationship, my camera’s and mine.
We just … click.
(yeah, that just happened)
It’s a good thing that my new, full-time job (read the story here) allows me to incorporate my picture-taking skillz into our design work. If I didn’t have that outlet, I think I might go a little crazy.
And I received permission from my beautiful models to post their images here. Helene and Keri, THANK YOU for allowing me to photograph you for our campaign—the images turned out perfectly, and I, personally, love working with you both! You’re amazing!
And, as a bonus (or maybe not), the girls also took my photo during our shoot. It is, certainly, a valuable experience for every photographer to have their photo taken to know how the models feel. That being said, I’m content behind the lens.
Always.
Meet Tom, Kirsten, and their BABY BOY!!
This family is very dear to Tyler and me, and we simply couldn’t be happier for them as they anticipate the arrival of their new bundle. They’re, literally, glowing around each other. Tom is already a proud daddy, even before he’s met his son. And Kirsten? As the oldest of nine, she knows a little of what to expect, is prepared with the wealth of knowledge her mom has shared with her, and is simply amped up to finally be a MOM!!
They’re going to be fantastic together, and I’m honored to have been able to photograph this special time in their lives. We love you, Tom and Kirsten; And we can’t wait to meet you, Baby McClendon!
